I absolutely LOVE the MLM industry !
It has given my family the lifestyle we have always dreamed of. But it has not come without it’s challenges.
In this Blog, I want to address an issue that’s been wrenching my gut for a while.
It is no wonder the MLM industry has such a bad name and no one gets us.
Here’s the dilemma….
You join a company, you work your butt off, you get success. Checks are coming. Great, you’ve achieved the dream. A residual income for life! YIPPEEE!!!. OH, wait. You decide that you are going to join another (non competing) MLM company.
Why? Because the product makes sense to you as well as some other top leaders. Plus, anyone with common sense says “Get multiple streams of income”. In your state of exuberant delirium you join another company knowing that it makes sense. The next thing you know, you get a termination notice from your other company. What happened!?
If you have a moment, I am going to rant.
It sickens me that without US, the REPS, companies wouldn’t exist . Too often in this industry companies forget that it was US who made them. Now not all companies are like that but many are and it is a shame. Don’t ever forget that “you are everybody’s friend when you are bringing people to the company, but an instant enemy when you join another company and put any attention into that”.
Now let’s switch to the internal “back biting” that begins from within.
What kind of STUPID attitude do MLMer’s have when it comes to competition. Think about it, if a professional MLB, NBA or NFL player gets “traded” or he, the player, chooses to move to another team for who cares what reason, maybe he needs another challenge, doesn’t like management, wants to pick a more booming city to live in or whatever. Most of his friends, and the media for that matter, don’t start slandering his name, calling them greedy or putting down the new team he joined or making fun of the new city they moved too. They act like professionals.
In MLM it’s a joke. If you leave a company for any reason and go to another one, be prepared for “haters”. Its so sad, that an industry with so much to offer has so many complete goof balls.
Here’s something to think about. In my opinion, MLM in the U.S. has peaked. Most everyone has heard of it or done it. There is NOT and never will be a magical “wave 3” of millions of people joining MLM. What IS going to happen is that people will become more aware and well trained in MLM and will move from company to company.
Yes, you will have MLM “Virgins” join but it will be very rare. Instead, if you are smart, you will build long lasting relationships that will be the backbone of your MLM career. (Here’s a tip, do not slander people in the MLM industry for whatever reason. You WILL come into contact with them again eventually and if you burn that bridge earlier it could cost you millions)
“I HAVE A DREAM”…. that MLM would thrive and families would be able to achieve the dream of financial independence. But I also wish that people would quit being a bunch of babies and understand that if their friend joins another company because THEY wanted too, that they are NOT a criminal. Here’s the thing….”If you REALLY care about someone, don’t you think that you should support THEIR decision even if it doesn’t profit YOU?” I have had plenty of people that joined with me in companies and then left for whatever reason to do other things. GOOD FOR THEM !!!
I wish them well and glad they where a big part of my life and development. I am happy for them and hope we cross paths again. I am NOT trying to get them “terminated” or slandering their name.
PLEASE PEOPLE, QUIT BEING A BUNCH OF RETARDS WHEN IT COMES TO MLM AND GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER.
Love it or hate it, MLM is great. And whenever you are dealing with money, people’s TRUE character will come out. Just because someone joins another deal doesn’t mean they are greedy. It may mean they are smart…….

I totally agree with you! The biggest issue in MLM is not the jumping around, but WHY we jump. A lot of times it is due to issues beyond our control and at a corporate level that is not always disclosed to the reps up front. (they wait till after you’ve sold out to them) As a leader, you HAVE to jump when you feel inside your gut that you just can’t lead people down a road to nowhere and disappointment!
If others don’t understand that, then too bad. That’s why we work for ourselves:) And if leaving was a mistake, then guess what, we’re all human. If people don’t want to follow they don’t have to!
