His question started with comparing some internet/service companies, affiliate programs and questions on what are called “top tier” programs. (Top tier programs require people to pony up very large amounts of upfront money to join. This obviously pays out a huge immediate commission, however from a long term perspective I am very skeptical on these and have yet to see anyone keep long term friends when they get them involved)

The power of MLM is the ability to build something one time that continues to spin off cash month in and month out on a residual basis. The MLM (Multi Level Marketing) model has worked successfully for over 100 years now and is the fastest growing business model in the world today, in fact it’s now growing faster than franchising. More people are making full-time incomes from MLM now than real estate.

So here’s the quick MLM history.
Out of the 10’s of thousands of companies that have ever come, gone, or still exist, only 68 have ever done more than 100 million a year in sales. Of those 68 only 12 have ever become billion dollar annual companies. 5 months ago, Amway was the first company in MLM history to do 1 billion in MONTHLY sales.
Guess what the common denominator is with these 12 billion dollar companies?
ALL of them have a very large CUSTOMER base.
Of the top 12 companies in the world in MLM,  ALL of them offer some nutritional products
even the ones that are cosmetic companies.

Now if you go all the way through the TOP 50, only about 6 companies offer a product/service that is not nutritional based or have some offering of a nutritional.
So that leads me to believe that if someone really wants a true residual income in the MLM industry then nutritionals historically are the PROVEN way to do that.
Sure there are timing issues and so on but one reason I chose Evolv was looking at the past to see how the future could possibly repeat itself.

Now if we look back at some of the greatest success stories in MLM history for not only the companies but the distributors, the one major thing I’ve seen is that you want to be with a company that has the potential for global expansion, they must have the ability to expand their product line without jeopardizing their companies culture. ( I have seen MANY “juice” companies put themselves into a corner by primarily focusing on that as their core product and once the inevitable decline in sales comes as a company must expand their product line, none of those companies fully recovers from it based on prior ideology for so many years.)

From a distributor stand point it’s very important to understand that change happens. That’s why I even love the name “Evolv“. The name itself gives you insight into what we plan on doing down the road and based on timing, capitalization, leadership and team systems that are in place, we are perfectly aligned to be the next BIG company. This is NOT a hype statement but one from historical fact.
